My grandma loved to quilt.
Her quilts adorn my home and constantly remind me of her love. And yet, at the same time, it’s amazing to think of what she used to tell me in her quilt room. “The fun in the quilt is in the pattern, it’s making something beautiful from the little pieces, but you have to plan it carefully first.”
And, to my grandmother and her quilting circle, planning was a masterpiece. From the pattern to the quilt, each step was carefully pre-planned so a beautiful new work of art could be made.
Often, in business, we sometimes forget to step back and take a look at the bigger picture. It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day mayhem and responsibilities we have, and forget the wider pattern we follow. If we forget, then it’s easy to get off track and sew something we didn’t intend to make.
